Feed Mixing Unit (Mixer)

Feed Mixing Machine (Mixer) — Operation

  1. The feed mixing machine is started while empty.
  2. The red line on the level sight glass indicates the maximum fill level of the feed.
  3. Full homogeneity is achieved with a 6-minute mix.
  4. Using the feed discharge lever manually, bagging and transfer to the silo are carried out.
  5. No feed is ever left inside the machine; it is fully discharged.

  1. Electrical faults should be resolved by an authorized electrician.
  2. Bearing and belt replacements can be done by the operation's technical team.
  3. If a welding machine is to be operated near the mixer, the scale's power must be switched off.
  4. Never leave feed inside the mixer.

  1. Oats are not added at more than 10% of the total mix.
  2. The moisture content of the feed materials entering the mix should be at most 14%.
  3. Molasses and similar products are never put inside the mixer.
  4. If liquid vegetable oil is to be added to the mix, the amount should be at most 4%.
  5. The minimum amount to enter the mix should be 5 kg.
  6. For homogeneity, the smallest mix should be 250 kg.

  1. The homogeneity time for each feed batch mix is 5–6 minutes.

  3. No feed is left inside the mixer.
  4. The mixer is not switched off until feed production is finished.
  5. The mixer bearings should be lubricated at the end of every 100 hours of operation.
  6. Belt tensions should be checked frequently.
